Already in her thesis (Expatriates in Austria: Culture-related Challenges in the Corporate Sector – The Case of French Executives) at the Institute for International Management at Johannes Kepler University, she explored social dynamics, especially those affecting expatriates in Austria, laying the foundation for her intercultural and socio-political expertise.

Her doctoral research (Bourdieu in Gerontology: Scientometric Studies in German-speaking Countries), [Download in German here] conducted at the Institute for Philosophy and Theory of Science under Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fröhlich and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ingo Mörth, focused on the social-scientific analyses of Pierre Bourdieu and their significance for understanding societal structures. She further deepened this work through a merit scholarship and several research scholarships (HyperBourdieu) at Johannes Kepler University Linz.

After initial experience in interest-based politics as a board member of the Young Entrepreneurs Linz City, Caroline Priller now serves as a member of the District Committee Urfahr-Umgebung, a member of the Regional Committee for Machinery and Technology Trade of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Federal Committee for Machinery and Technology Trade of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

She was appointed by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce as an expert lay judge at the Labor and Social Court of the Regional Court Linz.

Her commitment to the common good is reflected in numerous roles at a local level. As Vice Mayor of Sonnberg im Mühlkreis, she chairs the Committee for School, Kindergarten, Youth, and Family Affairs, while also serving as a member of the municipal council and executive board. In these roles, she consistently strives to build bridges across social, cultural, and generational boundaries and to strengthen community cohesion. She also initiates and organizes numerous events in the course of this work.

Beyond her political engagement, Dr. Priller is also active as an entrepreneur. As a partner and managing director of PRILLER OG, she oversees IT services and trade, demonstrating her ability to successfully combine technological solutions with business expertise. Previously, she organized a variety of events, such as the Soweto Gospel Choir in Linz.

Caroline Priller sees herself as a bridge-builder between people, fields, and cultures. She advocates for dialogue, balance, and cooperation – always guided by the conviction that social, cultural, and economic fields never exist in isolation, but in a dynamic interplay that she explores both academically and practically.
